A young woman observes the inequities of the social strata and decided to become a writer to tell about the conditions there. She enlists, reluctantly a black housemaid to start her book to be sent to New York City to start her writing career. Later after being very careful because these actions are forbidden by law, the word gets out about the book and many more house maids decide to tell their story also.

*Emotion- An enjoyable ensemble cast of actresses that did an excellent job in telling a story about the South in the early 60's. It conveys the segregation and balances that negative with the goodness of the White southern society of the time. The plot was very balanced with humor, pathos and good pacing with several unforeseen plot points through in for additional good measure. A good time at the movies.
